O Dia Mundial da Terra, como sabemos, é celebrado há 54 anos no dia 22 de Abril. O Presidente Biden instituiu oficialmente este dia, 22 de Abril como Dia da Terra.
Pretende-se alertar o mundo para a importância e a necessidade de conservação dos recursos naturais do nosso planeta Terra. Este dia é celebrado em mais de 190 países, com a participação de muitos milhões de pessoas.
As letras Google mostram alguns dos lugares do mundo onde pessoas, comunidades e governos trabalham, todos os dias, para ajudar a proteger a beleza natural, a biodiversidade e os recursos do Planeta. Estes exemplos oferecem a promessa de esperança e optimismo, mas também nos lembram que há muito mais a fazer para enfrentar a crise climática e a perda de biodiversidade.
O tema Planeta vs Plásticos, é um compromisso importante que apela ao fim dos plásticos em prol da saúde humana e do planeta. Exige-se uma redução de 60% na produção de plásticos até 2040. O objectivo final é construir um futuro sem plástico para as gerações futuras.
Objectivos : Para alcançar a redução de 60% até 2040...
Promover a consciencialização pública generalizada sobre os danos causados pelo plástico na saúde humana, saúde animal e toda a biodiversidade. Exigir que mais pesquisas sejam realizadas sobre as suas implicações para a saúde, incluindo a divulgação de toda e qualquer informação ao público sobre seus efeitos;
Eliminar rapidamente todos os plásticos de utilização única até 2030 e alcançar este compromisso de eliminação progressiva no Tratado das Nações Unidas sobre Poluição Plástica em 2024.

We learned Environment Education since 2007 at school with our teacher Dr. GSouto and participated in Polar International Year 2007-2008 and Earth Day since 2007 into languages and Civics curricula. We were 10-11 years-old.
Now we have our Master degree, we work but we always are environmental young citizens. So we continue this blog created in 2007 every time we have a moment.

Turistas foram vistos a aproximar-se da cratera do vulcão White Island poucos momentos antes da erupção.
As imagens falam por si. Uma coluna gigante de fumo cobre quase toda a paisagem de cinzento, enquanto os operadores turísticos tentavam resgatar as pessoas ainda no local.
Diversas turistas morreram depois do vulcão ter entrado em erupção inesperadamente. Um destino turístico da Nova Zelândia. A polícia temeu não haver sobreviventes. E muito poucos houve, apesar das constantes buscas feitas também pelo exército.

Tourists died. Rescuers searched for more tourists alive or not. Military recover team returned. Some bodies transferred from White Island to HMNZS Wellington by helicopter, as divers search for final missing.
