Over the past 50 years, warming of the Antarctic Peninsula has been accompanied by accelerating glacier mass loss and the retreat and collapse of ice shelves. A key driver of ice loss is summer melting; however, it is not usually possible to specifically reconstruct the summer conditions that are critical for determining ice melt in Antarctic. April 22nd ! Earth Day 2013! After Earth Hour 2013, this is the most important day of the Planet!

And Earth Day is a special day for schools! All over the world, teachers and students work on fantastic projects to commit to actions that go beyond the planet.

Earth Day 2013's theme is "The Face of Climate Change" to highlight growing impact on individuals through interactive digital campaign.

Let's end this acceleration glacier mass loss! Showing our "face od climate chage".

Emperor Penguins. I have the impression that to penguins, man is a different kind of penguin, unpredictable, occasionally violent, but tolerable company when he sits still and admires Nature and leaves it as he found it.

Penguins do not live in the Arctic. They live on the shores of Antarctica and they also live in the south of Australia, New Zealand, America & Africa. The most northerly place that penguins live is on the Galapagos Islands which is near Ecuador in South America. Even though there is ice in Canada and the Arctic penguins don't live there or in the northern half of the world.

In Portugal, as in most European countries, August is school time-out season. The students and teachers have holiday time.

So, we will be back in September!

Until there, watch this beautiful video about Emperor Penguins and spread the word!

Have fun! See us soon!
