Brrr ! Inverno rigoroso no Alasca e na Algéria !










Um rigoroso Inverno deixou uma cidade do Alasca lutando contra montes de neve o que obrigou a cidade a procurar fornecimento de combustível a partir de um petroleiro russo.


Soldados da Guarda Nacional estão em Cordova, ajudando a cidade, depois de escavar neve fresca, na passada terça-feira, acrescentando cerca de 5.5m  à que tem caído desde Novembro.


JR Lewis, um habitante da cidade, disse à BBC que os soldados da Guarda Nacional estão ajudar a cavar valas para manter os edifícios municipais abertos e para garantir aos moradores  sair de suas casas.


Acrescentou que o mau tempo tinha causado alguns desabamentos de edifícios.

National Guard troops are in Cordova, helping the town dig out after fresh snowfalls on Tuesday added to the 18ft (5.5m) that has fallen since November.


Resident JR Lewis told the BBC that National Guard soldiers are helping dig out drifts to keep municipal buildings open and to ensure residents can leave their homes.


He added that the weather had caused some building to collapse.
