Alex Perov, um fotógrafo, captou o segundo em que um bloco gigantesco de gelo caiu de um icebergue com 50 metros de altura, no meio do oceano.
O fotógrafo estava a passar por um icebergue, em iate, quando o bloco começou a deslizar para o mar. O bloco provocou uma onda gigante que seguiu na direcção da embarcação, provocando o pânico.

Situado na Baia de Disko, na Gronelândia, o icebergue em queda provocou um “mini-tsunami”, segundo palavras de Perov.
“Foi inesperado. Estávamos três pessoas a bordo, num pequeno barco e normalmente não nos aproximaríamos tanto de um icebergue, a menos de 100 metros”.

“O colapso durou sete segundos e eu não o antecipei. Tinha a ideia de fazer algumas fotos ao arco do icebergue, foi um raro momento e, por sorte, a câmara tinha todas as suas definições preparadas para este tipo de fotografia”,

Até que o icebergue colapsou e enviou várias ondas gigantes até o iate. Segundo notícias, a reacção pronta da tripulação, que retirou o iate rapidamente do local, evitou uma tragédia para Perov e os seus companheiros de viagem.

A Russian photographer, Alex Perov, has captured the split second that huge blocks of ice fell from a giant 160ft-tall iceberg in the middle of the ocean.
The incredible moment happened by chance when Alexander Perov tried to take pictures of a yacht passing in the iceberg's arc.
However, his awe soon turned to panic as the falling chunks crashed into the sea, setting off a big wave.
'The collapse lasted around seven seconds and I didn't anticipate it. The primary idea was to take a shot of the yacht in the arc of the iceberg.
'I had a rare opportunity to see everything from the very beginning and to take pictures of the whole event.
'By chance, all the settings of the camera were set already for this kind of shot.
'When it collapsed, it sent waves through the water which rocked the boat.
'When we heard the blast, we quickly turned the boat from the iceberg and sped away to avoid turning over.
'The specific problem for photographing it was I could not take the picture normally as I had to hang tight in the boat while we sped away from the wave, which seemed to me like a tsunami.'
